GHG Accounting and Decarbonisation

Your customers have Scope 3 targets. Your emissions are part of them.

Who it is for

Suppliers asked for carbon data, a product carbon footprint or a reduction target by a customer.

Sustainability managers who own a Scope 3 target and need their suppliers to move. TCB runs the same work across a group of suppliers: comparable data for the customer, a lower cost per supplier, and suppliers that come out more efficient and more resilient to supply shocks.

What you get

  • Greenhouse gas inventory on the GHG Protocol, Scopes 1, 2 and 3What to send when a customer asks for your footprint
  • Product carbon footprint (ISO 14067)The figure per product your customer books in its own Scope 3
  • Hotspot analysisWhere emissions and cost sit in the same place
  • Reduction options, each with cost, saving and paybackWhich cuts also save money
  • Roadmap with targets aligned to the Science Based Targets initiative methodA plan the business can fund and a customer can trust
  • One page carbon summary for customersA ready answer for the next request

Deliverables are tailored to each client's situation. The final scope can vary depending on the client's specific needs. This list is indicative only, and no rights can be derived from it.

What is at stake

97% of European companies with validated science based targets have a Scope 3 target, which covers their suppliers, and 451 of them also ask a share of their suppliers to set targets of their own (SBTi Target Dashboard, October 2026; how TCB calculated these figures). A supplier that can answer with credible figures and a reduction plan is easier to keep on the approved list and stronger at the next tender.

In the case study, a product carbon footprint showed that 28% of one input feedstock was being lost as CO₂. The fix could reduce emissions at no net cost.

How it works

Map the business

Activities, sites, products and the data that already exists.

Collect and process the data

Figures from systems and invoices, plus interviews where data is missing.

Present the results

Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and product carbon footprints where needed.

Compare the pathways

Options to reduce emissions, each with its cost, saving and payback (energy, materials, waste disposal) and any new customers it can open.

Agree the roadmap

Targets and a sequence of actions the business can fund, with the commercial case set out.

When companies call

  • A customer asks for a product carbon footprint.
  • A customer sets a supplier emissions target.
  • The company wants to know which reductions also cut costs.

First step: the footprint of one product or one site. Book a call to scope it.
